Management of The University
The board of Samara University is the supreme governing body of the institution. It oversees the proper constitution and functioning of the senate, and the managing council. H.E. Mr. Amin Abdulkadir, Minister of Culture and Tourism Ministry leads it.
The board has accomplished the following major activities, among other things, in this academic year, 2006 E.C. It has made about seven different meetings to discuss and pass various decisions. It examined, approved and followed up the implementation of organizational plans, policies, administration and internal regulations of the university. It reviewed strategic plans, annual plans and budgets of the university and supervised their implementation.It also oversees performance reports and financial statements of the university.
Besides, the board established systems to solve problems related to good governance. As part of this, it has established change council that is accountable to the institutional transformation office of the university.It has made through discussions on continuous meetings with the staff and in its regular sessions having special focus on the root causes and solutions of good governance. By doing so, it took remedial measures for events that have happened.
The board has prepared its usual work plan and plan of quick wins and acted accordingly with active involvement of the university community. Incredible resultswere archivedwith its activities accomplished so far.It followed up and contributed for the implementation of change tools such as BPR, BSC as well as formation of development army. On top of this, the board has arranged consecutive awareness creation and capacity building trainings by experienced trainers to the university staff.
Moreover, in this fiscal year, notable changes are observed on infrastructural developments. By now, some basic constructions started so far are completed and served the community and some more are on their final stage.
The board’s commitment and indispensable decisions are contributing a lot for the developmental journey that the university is traveling in.
